2005 1500 Z71 Cruise Control

I recently purchased an '05 Z71 5.3L. The cruise control seems to operate too aggressively. When climbing a moderately steep hill it will kick down all the way to 2nd gear, even if it was accelerating in 3rd gear.

Problem does not occur when cruise control is disengaged, i.e. I can gradually accelerate in 3rd gear up a hill without kicking down into 2nd.

Engaging tow mode does not seem to matter. Vehicle is a Certified Used vehicle, still under warranty so I would like to sort this out.

Is this something that can be adjusted?

Thanks!

Re: 2005 1500 Z71 Cruise Control

Some cars are just that way. They work the fastest to get beck up to speed. My brother's civic will almost redline going through the mountains. Imo I dont like cruise on anything.
