too flush or not to flush
First of all i would like to say hello, i am new to this forum. i just picked up a 01 ram 5.9 2wd quad.
Since i do not know the real history of up keep for this truck, shouls i have the trans flushed and filled? from looking very quickly it seems that these trans aren't the greatest(nothing against dodge), but i have also heard that most people that have flushed any tranny seem to have bigger problems after thats done.

Re: too flush or not to flush
I would service the transmission, but I would have the pan removed and the bands adjusted also with a filter change. The old manuel valve body units gave trouble after being serviced but the newer models don't give problem often after service. Make sure the fluid level is checked afterward with the trans. in neutral and engine running, not park.

Re: too flush or not to flush
I do not reccomend flushing. Why chance it, just do a normal filter and fluid change and be done with it. And as long as it's done correctly, no probs adjusting bands.
