Would this be my waterpump?

Hi everyone i have a 1997 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme LS. It has around 110k on it and is in good condition. I just came home today from the weekend to a nice big puddle under my car. It was antifreeze i found out since my radiatior and resivor were both empty. I filled it up and drove it around the block and came home to look it at. I opened the hood to it steaming from antifreeze. I than seen it dripping down in a pretty steady stream. I have a picture and the blue line in it shows where its dripping from, its dripping from underneath that. THANKS ALOT!

Re: Would this be my waterpump?

If the hose isnt split its the water pump.

Easy to change! Best to loosen the bolts on the pulley before removing the belt.
Then thier are several(6-7) bolts under that which holds the actual pump in.
Then when reinstalling the pulley, a wrench diagonaly thru the bolt heads will help hold it while you tighten the other bolts.

Re: Would this be my waterpump?

thanks alot infinity! We are almost positive its not a split hose since there doesnt seem to be one supposed to go there or anything. But also thatll save us a repair bill if you say it is easy to replace. My dad thought that we would need special tools to get the pulleys off or whatever. Do you by any chance have a diagram or anything that could help us out??

Thanks alot everyone!
Tanner

Re: Would this be my waterpump?

Got it fixed, it was my water pump at first we thought it was just the gasket so we replaced that than it still leaked and ended up being my water pump. Was a pretty easy thing to do aswell.

Thanks everyone!
