Re: XENEON HID head lights?

I tried the bulbs you are looking at on ebay and they cut down visability so much that I took them out and returned to the regular factory bulbs. If you are looking for better night vision you need to go with an HID upgrade kit. I have not tried these, so I cannot recommend them. You can get them from ebay for somewhere around $150. Would love to hear feedback on these kits if anyone is using them!!

Re: XENEON HID head lights?

HID are bright and intense, unlike the cheap Xenon bulbs they peddle on ebay. These economical bulbs are bright, but have no intensity. Also, be careful when putting them in to clean the bulb's glass first with alcohol and a clean rag or they will blow up in the housing. If you drive very much at night I would reccomend putting in Sylvania Halogen Bulbs. They will last a lot longer and will be easier to aim. HID bulbs won't have as much of a lifetime as the Halogen bulbs which I believe to be 3 years if driven every night. HID lighting systems are well worth the money and can be purchased on ebay for about $150. Every night I see cars with xenon bulbs and the headlights are bright but they don't put any light on the ground. HID lights are good enough for Cadillac, Mercedes and BMW's and many new 09 cars coming out. They will be good enough for you, too. HID is excellent. You get what you pay for.
