How to make plastic look like stamped metal?

On an exposed frame, for example....

One idea I had, and Walter seemed to agree, was layering .005" thick strips on flat surfaces, then applying thin cement to weld down the edges.

Any other ideas? Especially for beams w/ circles stamped in them...? TIA!

Cool! In that case you might want to check this tool out, I just got one, arrived yesterday. As it says, it's a scribing template but u can easily use it to cut out perfect shapes from thin plastic.

I take it you're looking into this for the Spoon S2K?

I think the strips of .005 plastic is perhaps the best solution for any raised areas, that's probably how i would have done it.
