see a pattern here

I can`t help but shake my head at the posts here.I think GM is the real problem(no quality control) on their trucks.I have posted on this issue before and have not changed my mind. With all the error codes people are getting,I guess I have a legit bitch. My 40,000 dollar pu sits in the driveway while I drive a 98 ford escort with 140,000 miles on it to work. The ford drives perfect and I get 33to 35 mpg. The warranty and recall issues are a joke.
My 2 cents , pissed from Ca.

Re: see a pattern here

Im all for America and buying American, but the "crap" just doesnt hold up, and the automakers do NOT stand behind their product, so I do not feel bad for them, and hopefully this is a wake up call for them. I do feel bad for all those who are going to lose their jobs. But Toyota and other foreign makers seem to make a more reliable product, stand behind it and are proud of it. You call GM customer service, located in the Philappians, and you get the same run around, maybe we can help, but they never do. I emailed my congressman and explained, and how I was against a bailout, but who is going to listen to a pee-on anyways?

Re: see a pattern here

I like the excuse of $2000 of every car goes to pension plans so the competition has the advantage of offering more for the same money? That doesn't hold water for me!!

Lets start by making a car that has some appeal!
Make it reliable!
Don't offer it loaded with accessories and options that fail!

The second two offset each other making the vehicle fairly priced. Continue offering more reliability/quality and they will buy it, enjoy it, and buy it again!!!

Oh yeah, lets show up in Washington with our corporate jets and tell the politicians where broke because of the economy? WHAT!!! Your broke because you produce substandard vehicles that have earned a reputation of being money pits! Who wants to own that?

Re: see a pattern here

I forgot to say why my pu sits in the driveway.I can`t drive it on the road without a reduced power message and gm doesn`t think it`s a safety issue. The other reason the gauges don`t work right and I`ll be damned if I`LL PAY 700 DOLLARS TO FIX A FACTORY DEFECT.

Re: see a pattern here

The concept of our tax dollars bailing out any private company is extremely dangerous...the politicians are choosing who gets bailed out...

one example would be GM gets 25billion and then builds a new plant in china...

why this is even being considered is just a big ?
the solution is bankruptcy and then reorganization just as you and I must do when the business goes bad...

then you start over....also pontiac, saab, and saturn will soon be history...
