engine code retrieval on 93 grand am V6

i went to autozone to see if they could get the trouble codes for my GA. they said it had to be 1996 or newer. its got a 3300 V6.

i know there is supposed to be a way to use a small jumper wire across the diagnostic connector, i just dont know how to do it.

any help would be greatly appreciated.

Its pretty easy to do. Here is a link that shows you how and has a list of the OBD-1 trouble codes.
