Angry vtech not working

My vetch is not working and I cannot figure it out...it works sometimes, but only when the speedometer decides to work...it also has something to do with my cruise control! I thought that I knew what it was 'cause i unplugged the the vtech plug and blew out with dust off and it worked for 2 days, but no more! Also can this be bad for my engine if I go above 5500 rpm when driving and my vtech does not kick in? Can someone please help me!

Maybe your phone cord is unplugged

Is your engine light on? How do you know you're not in VTEC? Do you have a SOHC VTEC engine or a DOHC? Sometimes its hard for me to tell when I'm in VTEC on my little SOHC. Perhaps you just don't know you're in VTEC mode. Do you have a VTEC light installed? You might want to look into one of those. If you do a search on Google, you should be able to find instructions.

Once again, its VTEC

MOst people tend to forget that VTEC works off of oil pressure and temperature. If your car is not warmed up properly and not reaching optimal temperature VTEC will not work. Also if you have low oil oil pressure will not open up the lobes for VTEC to work.

You also could have burned out your VTEC solenoid. But check your oil first.

So if the solenoid is burned out...do you know how much one costs?
I will check my oil, but I do not think that it is that because my speedometer is not working either....it works sometimes and then so does my VTEC!

Oh yeah, your blinker fluid could be low, too. While your at it, check the muffler bearing, but to get to it you'll need a wood stretcher. LOL!!
