01 transfer case switch/4wd actuator/hvac controls
I had a transfer case switch fail and allowed trans fluid to contaminate and ruin the 4wd actuator and hvac control switch on a 01 Blazer. The hvac control switch had only a trace of oil but the 4wd actuator was saturated with oil. What type of solvent do you use and is there a specific procedure for flushing the vacuum lines? Is there other vacuum components that need to be checked for fluid?

Re: 01 transfer case switch/4wd actuator/hvac controls
GM's answer is to replace any vacuum componant that was in contact with the trans fluid. This includes the vacuum canister, HVAC control, and vacuum actuators besides the vacuum harness. If you do a partial replacement, the fluid travels and recontaminates the rest of the system.
