2000 CR-V engine help please

from someone who knows the cr-v's engine...Or has a manual.
I thought I put the dip stick back correctly, but found I bent the stick & it never went into the hole. The dip stick hole is hidden behind an aluminum plate with a large hole in it, but you can't see where the dip stick goes, you have to do it by feel.

Anyway, I drove the vehicle (not far), and think I blew out the part that the dip stick goes into?? There is oil over the engine and when I look in the hole with a flash lite, I see a large egg shaped hole & what looks like the inside of the engine with no place for the dip stick to go. Could this be what happened??

I'm asking, as I live in a very rural area 12 miles from town with NO Honda dealer within 3 hours drive.
I'll have to have it towed, but I'm the proverbial "li'l ole lady" & sure would like to know what needs to be done before someone says I have to have the engine rebuilt or whatever...
