Tamiya 1/12 Yamaha YZR M1 50th Anniversary US Intercoloring Edition - Valentino Rossi

Hi guys,

Before I continue posting photos of the Tamiya 1/12 Mclaren MP4/6 (http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbul...d.php?t=929095), I want to post the photos of the latest model I have finished. This kit was finished last June, but now I'll show you the WIP and the completed project.

So let's start with the material that I used:

I used the Studio27 PE kit. It contains some pieces (front and rear brake discs, clutch, LCD panel, some nuts, ...).

I also used the Tabu Design decal for Valentino (I'm sorry Colin! ):

Also some green clear tubing, for the braking systems, and some Scale Motorsport CF decals:

And finally, the Tamiya front fork kit for the Yamaha YZR M1 2005:

So now that I have introduced you everything, and before I continue posting all the WIP photos of this project, I will create the thread for the completed project.

Re: Tamiya 1/12 Yamaha YZR M1 50th Anniversary US Intercoloring Edition - Valentino Rossi

Alright guys, so let's start with the engine, the chassis and the exhaust, where I added some putty:

I painted the chassis with Tamiya semi-gloss black in spray, but I didn't like the look it had, because it was too shiny, so I decided to paint it with another type of spray.

And here's the engine and the exhaust:

I added these springs to the exhaust:

I changed the original plastic clutch for the one from the PE parts kit:

That's all for now.

More photos!!

Now, let's go to the chassis. I added some putty, as well as some PE parts:

Here you can see the new color I painted the chassis. It is not so bright as the previous one, and its look is better:

I changed the plastic LCD panel for this PE one. It has more details, and with CF decals looks better. Anyway, the plastic one is below it:

Here you can see the airbox, with CF decals:

I started to add connectors and wires at the back part of the LCD panel:

Here you can see the panel with the CF decal. As you can see, I changed the original Tamiya black tube for this clear green one, as the original bike.

I added some more details:

I drilled two holes for the accelerator cables, because the Tamiya tube looked excessively thick. This wire looks more proportional.

And even more details of the chassis:

And finally the radiator:

I hope you like it. More to come soon

More photos!! Here you have the exhaust. I was my first work with an airbrush, and I think that the result is not so bad... Maybe is is too dark (too much Smoke X-19), but I like it anyway!

And more work with the chassis:

Here you have a closer view of the throttle wires:

And the front and rear wheels:

And nearly finished:

I added some wires for the front wheel sensors, and a "hand-made" front fork sensor:

As soon as I upload the last photos, I'll let you know.

OK guys, it's time to finish!!

Let's start with the last photo of the engine:

A whole view of the bike:

Here you can see more detail of he front fork sensor I did;

And the bike finished, before applying the decals:

So that's all. If you want, you can see the completed photos here: http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbul...d.php?t=930659

I still have to do some more kits before my next bike project. This will be the model of a unique bike in the world (one of my bikes!!).

See you soon.
