Renaissance kit in 1/24 Scale Ford Sierra Cosworth 4x4 Gr.A
I have been away from building models for a little while but while searching the web came accross a new? release from Renaissance it is the 1/24 Scale of the Ford Sierra Cosworth 4x4 Gr.A car. This is the famous Q8 livery of the model and raced by François Delecour in the Montecarlo rally 1991.
Has anyone purchased one of these kits, at first glance I couldnt find any WIP or such, would be interested in buying one, does seem very pricey tho' Thanks |

It's in French but it's the WIP of the making of the kit prototype:
http://www.mautomobile.com/forum/ind...howtopic=16023 Get yourself a coffee first cause it's really long. The last pages contain also a WIP of one of the first models built from this kit. |

I picked up one a few weeks ago.
Check out the following link for photos of the shell and the rest of the kit. I do not have a great deal of experience with Resin but the overall shape and detail looks good. Let me know if you want any specific close up shots. Cheers http://s171.photobucket.com/albums/u...ce%20Sapphire/ |

There is an approval process that usually takes from a few hours to a day. I was surprised the first time too, but since than everything works very nicely. |

Did you get an approval for your account on mautomobile.com? If yes, did you log in? Can you access the following pages (in this order): MAUTOMOBILE > VOITURES > Work In Progress ? If yes than you should use the search function, it's on the toolbar at the top of the page, on the right side, and the button is called "Recherche". Click and paste the following in the dialog box: Sierra Cosworth Renaissance. (you'll get a list with plenty of posts, and you'll have to find the ones from the right thread). Or use this: http://www.mautomobile.com/forum/ind...h&mode=adv&f=5 and paste : Sierra Cosworth Renaissance in the upper left dialog box. It should be the very first result. Still I don't see why the link isn't working for you, it works perfectly for me. |

Re: Renaissance kit in 1/24 Scale Ford Sierra Cosworth 4x4 Gr.A
I've bought this kit, an early Xmas pressie (it was the best part of £100GBP). I don't have a great deal of resin kit experience but this was a "must-have" as I love Ford rally cars.
The castings look nice, the build looks straightforward and the paint scheme is fairly simple, as half of the livery is done with large decals. The roll cage is all one piece which should make clean-up interesting, or is that nerve-wracking? There's a picture of the breakdown of parts on the Grand Prix Models website, that's where I got mine. If you're a Ford lover like me then this is the only available 1/24th Sapphire kit that I know of, plus it represents an interesting event for Francois Delecour in that his rear suspension broke on the last stage when he was due a runaway victory, a failure that he avenged on the '94 Monte in the Escort as modelled by Tamiya. |

Re: Renaissance kit in 1/24 Scale Ford Sierra Cosworth 4x4 Gr.A
cheers and thanks again, I have sent a PM to you Jano11, I did wonder based on the photos on RSsierras' photobucket page if the body was mastered from the Schabak 1/25 scale cossie they used to make...I remember parking mine next to a Tamiya XR4i and there was quite a noticable size differential one being 1/24 of course.
