Tip on 93 GMC door handle replacement

I understand that broken door handles are a common problem with this truck. Replacement can be mickey mouse if you know the tricks. Otherwise, it can be a whoremaster.

I connected the rods for the door lock and latch, but couldn't get the new handle in the door without damaging the door so I took the lock cylinder out of the handle, and attached it to the rod, and then guided it into the handle while I mounted the door handle. It worked great. It's nice not to have to crawl through the passenger door.
