Question Re: blower problem

Don't mean to hijack the thread so if anyone can redirect me to a previous post for help, fine. Having said that, I have been given a 1995 Caprice Classic, 5.7 with 49,000 orig.miles, one owner. Only real problem I've got is the heater/ac motor only works on high setting.
I ordered a new motor, pluged it in and still only operates on high. What's next?
All help appreciated.

Try rasping the contacts by rapidly turning the knob up to high, then back down to low several times. It worked for my 85 Caprice. I had the same problem. The idea is to wear off the corrosion that has built up on the switch contacts behind the knob. Sounds wild, but it worked. Don't know if you have the same type of knob on your 95.

your vehicle blower if its manual not autmatic hvac controlled ,,has a resistor module on the passenger side under the dash with the high speed only this points to the resistor assembly...when your in the max speed no resistors are used...the relay is commanded to pull in and 12v is applied to the blower...

you are a hijacker!!!

Re: Blower problem - 1995 Caprice

As j cAT said, there is a resistor module located on the passenger side above where someone's feet would rest. There are three screws holding it in place. It is a dealer only item, cost around $30. There are three coils on the board and the electrical connections usually rust away.
