Transmission problems

I have a 97 3000gt SL with an automatic. The transmission is shifting wierd from 2nd to 3rd gear. When accelerating it doesnt want to upshift from 2nd unless I let off the pedal and then it will drop in. Also when I am coming to a stop it doesnt want to downshift until I'm almost to a complete stop, like its stuck in 3rd gear?? I dont have a clue, I would think its something other than worn clutches but I'm lost. Please help Thanks

Re: Transmission problems

Could either be your TCU (transmission control unit) acting up or possible the transmission is just starting to go. I have had mine go on me before and it had similar problems. However, I also know someone with an ATX that had those same problems and it was just her TCU that needed to be fixed/replaced.

Re: Transmission problems

yea you need to check that TCU or swap it with a known good one. If that doesn't fix it you probably need a rebuild.
