Thank You old master
I have a 1995 GMC Safari van with 140,000 miles on it 4.3 with a (W) vin. It continued to have a rough idle to it and one day quit running altogether. I studied every 1995 safari forum on here and decided to check into the Injector (spider). Sure enough it had sprung a leak. I purchased a new injector, and Idle controle valve (it was surging realy bad along with running rough) and repaired it. While I had it open and toor apart I did a full tune up. Plugs, wires, cap, rotor, air filter, PCV. I got the rig back together, did a fuel pressure check and everything was a go to fire it up. In full anticipation of having a like new running rig I turned the key. It fired right up, did not surge a bit but ran like CRAP!!!!. I checked every sensor on the engine, checked and re-checked the spark wires, for 2 days after work I continued to pull my hair out till a few words came to me that I remember reading somewhere in the threads. Somewhere here old master had said that Autolite plugs are junk! Surely not I thought, I have them in all my rigs, why would it make a diffrence in my 95 safari. Not one to walk away from an old masters wisdom I shot down to the local parts store and purchased AC Delco Platnum Plugs. I replaced the plugs and slowly cranked her over. To my surprise she fired right up and ran like a dream. Dumbfounded I sat there stunned and just watched the engine hum without even a rattle. I cannot express enough how much this forum has helped me and I am forever greatfull to old master. Thank You
