99 chevy lumina

i have a 99 chevy lumina it is hard to go from park to reverese but all the gears is easy infact too easy i think it is the shifter cable but can you adjust the cable or any thing else

The cable can be cleaned and lubricated, and the cable routing can be adjusted to prevent any sharp turns and binding.

If the only problem is moving it from PARK, there may be an issue with the parking pawl in the transmission and not the cable. If the vehicle is parked on an incline, moving the selector from PARK can be more difficult. If that is the case, use the parking brake to prevent binding the park pawl in the trans. Check that. It's a good idea to use the park brake all the time, incline or not.

You can disconnect the cable from the transaxle linkage and see if the problem is the cable or the lever itself.
