Brake issue, soft pedal - 01 Sportage

Hey all, I got into my 01 Sportage this morning (21F brrrr) and the brakes are working but all of the sudden the pedal is really light the first time i push it and if i push it far enough 60%-ish it brakes ok. If i pump it once it brakes about normal feeling. Fluid level was ok.

I don't see any leaks, and the vacuum line going to the booster looks ok.

Master cylinder? Booster? (hope not $$$)

Thanks
Ted

Well last year mine did about the same...the lining from one front brake pad had just broken into pieces and separated; and last summer, same happened at a rear brake shoe. If it does it every time, I'd suspecet the rar, but check all around anyway.

Checked all 4 corners. Everything looks factory good.

Pulled vacuum line on booster, heard air rush in......maybe a sign it's ok?

Assuming it's a leaky passage in the master cylinder now...... $42 at the local parts store.

we'll see. hope it's safe to drive for now. kinda need it
