Intermittent no start...

2001 Dodge Neon 2.0L 8th digit vin C Auto

Car runs well, but on occasion it will not start. Turn the key and nothing, no dashlights or crank or anything. Doesn't seem to matter whether cold or hot. I could drive to the store, come out and it won't do anything. Then try again and it's fine. I also get no codes.

Could it be an ignition switch/Cam sensor/CPS?
And how to check for a specific cause.

Thank you.

Re: Intermittent no start...

I had the same thing on a Saturn. It was the starter starting to go. To test this take a test light attach clip to solenoid terminal on starter, ground the test probe, turn ignition switch to "start" position. You will of course need two people for this. If the test light lites up but the starter does not crank your solenoid is headed for "Boothill". Hope this helps.

Re: Intermittent no start...

I overlooked the starter. It's probably it. TY
