Re: key wont pop trunk

Sounds like the contact on the key fob for the trunk is bad or dirty. You can use a pencil eraser on the circuit board to clean the contact. If that does not fix the problem it might be time to replace the key fob.

Re: key wont pop trunk

I would think that if he hears a click under the dash when he presses the trunk button on the FOB, the FOB is doing its job. But maybe I don't understand. Also, if it does end up being the FOB, I have purchased several off of ebay and have been quite happy with them. Dealers want too much.

Re: key wont pop trunk

Do you have a button in your glovebox to pop the trunk? And does that work?

Re: key wont pop trunk

see post #1, OP stated the glove box button works. I would say it's either a BCM issue or weak/bad relay.

Re: key wont pop trunk

IF you still have your owners manual, you're going to have to check it for the relay position in the fuse box (or check to see if your fuse box still has the legend sticker on the cover), as they vary from year to year.
