For you Jag fans - Jaguar XJR5
1985 Jaguar XJR5 by Profil24. Started this when I was in temporary housing during my recent move, and just finished it. Built OOB (how did that happen?)
Tamiya paints and clearcoat. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() The clearcoat reacted with the decals in some places, but it still makes a decent shelf model. |

Re: For you Jag fans - Jaguar XJR5
Great job on a beautiful car. I was lucky enough to see this car race at Watkins Glen, it sounded more like a V8 than a V12.

Very nice build of a sweet cat
I very much like the simple livery.

Re: For you Jag fans - Jaguar XJR5
Looks good, a nice difference from the purple silkcut livery !!
Did you use Tamiya Clear from the can (I guess it is TS13)? I had the same problems on different models

Re: For you Jag fans - Jaguar XJR5
Beautiful Car! About the clearcoat, yes from experience i know that TS 13 from Tamiya is making troubles! Tamiya advices not to cleacoat the Decals with TS 13, but that i found after the disaster already happened. Is interesting that this cleacoat is reacting just in some places, not everywhere. I think just there where air is traped under the decals.

Re: For you Jag fans - Jaguar XJR5
Thanks for the comments.
I used TS13 clearcoat. The build was pretty straightforward, except that the rear suspension/transmission/wing support needed reworking. The attachment points just werent adequate, so I added attachment pins. |

Re: For you Jag fans - Jaguar XJR5
Always good to see the IMSA stuff. Group 44 is one of my all time favorite racing teams. On top of the XJR-5's, their XJS's, XKE's, and (personal favorite) Triumph TR8's were some of the wildest British machinery in the states.

Re: For you Jag fans - Jaguar XJR5
Great build, perfection as usual
Hope you are permanently settled and hope the transition to new digs went smoothly. Of course you might want to purchase a snow shovel and warmer jackets...I don't know if I could ever do a move to a colder climate...except perhaps in July and August
