2000 Isuzu Rodeo factory alarm

Had aftermarket alarm installed 3 years ago. I had a carwreck last year and finally got the car back on the road yesterday. It appears the factory alarm is going off sporatically (lights blink off and on horn sounds). I have unplugged the horn so I dont hear the noise but would like to fix the problem. When the alarm goes off, I hear a blinking noise around/inside the glovebox. I have read post about a tailgate switch but I dont see a switch in the tailgate area. Any idea how to correct the problem or disable the alarm?

Its usually either the tailgate switch as you said which is located near the hinges, or the hood switch which is along the passenger side fender. Not sure what will be effected if you unplug the control box. but its behind the glove box and to the right.
