Impala 2005 Low/No Interior Heat
I've got a 2005 Impala LS 3.8l engine with dual climate control. The output of the interior heater system is low. Just a bit of heat comes out, mostly cold. I changed the thermostat and the coolant level is fine. No difference between the passenger side and the drivers side. If I move control(s) to cold, I get all cold air. If I move control(s) to high, I get just a bit of heat. Air is directed to defrost, vent, or floor, depending on selection, so that works. I've read about issues of no heat to passenger side or drivers side, but in this case, the two work independently as they should. I can direct cold air and low heat air to either side. I can also direct the air to the floor, vent, or windshield.
Is there an common actuator of some sort? Which one? What is it called? How are to replace it? Tough job? Thanks in advance, Maxman Last edited by maxman; 11-17-2008 at 06:15 PM. Reason: Clarify Title |

did you blow out the heater core when Thermostat replaced ?...are the hoses hot to heater core ??? if not you must have a blockage... also air in the coolant system does cause this problem...purge air from system...air bubble... |

Re: Impala 2005 Low Heat Ventilation System
Hoses hot in and out of heater core. No temperature drop between them.
I changed the thermostat because I had no heat. Old school remedy, before all these funky motor driven actuators. No air bubbles in system. Coolant flowing well. |
