1989 mustang ignition/electrical

i was parking my 1989 mustang 5.0 5 speed, and before i stopped it just shut off on me. When i turn the ignition on i have no power, until i crank it. It cranks/starts but it does not stay on.

Possibly a bad ignition switch?

i kinda have that problem on my 88 gt accept its a short in the collumn if you can pull your steering wheel left to right not turn put pull it these problems may be connected cause i lose all power turn signals and headlight donesnt shut off though hope this was helpful.
