considering purhcasing a 90 f350 7.3L

Hey,

I know nothing about Fords, other than my dad's v10 triton is terrible and my friends newer diesel f350 has been to the shot 25 times in 4 years. However, the truck I'm looking at is much older than either of those. I've been looking at a 1990 f350 7.3 L powerstroke. The truck does not start, and the guy has quotes from the mechanic saying that there is air in the fuel lines, however they are not sure where it came in from. The truck has 170k miles on it and a 5sp manual transmission. Should I buy this, or let it float on by?

Some of these had a problem with ground wire to the block corrosion eating a hole in the block.
Unless he run the truck out of fuel it shouldn't have air in the fuel lines.
Never buy a used vehicle that don't run unless you are planning on a major rebuild.

You do not want it,the powerstroke is a big POS.Stay away from it if you want expensive repairs. If you want fuel mileage, the Dodge with the Cummins which will last up to a million or the Chevy Duramax.
