Question : How to paint/decal container ?
Hello All
I'm building this truck. Anybody got an idea how to get the CAST marking on the container surface ? http://www.fordtranscontinental.nl/W.../others/q2.jpg |

Re: Question : How to paint/decal container ?
A bit*h to maske and paint I would imagine
![]() Your best bet would be a decal IMHO but your real problem is that it will need to be an ALPS pronted decal as regular printers won't print white. Hmmm.. another idea might be to get a sheet of white decal paper, make up a PhotoShop/Illustrator file of the logo and then get someone with a plotter to cut it out of the white decal paper. In fact, the more I think about it, that would be my first try.

). I don't know about the USA but plotting/cutting is a readily available service at most copy shops here in Poland Same file needed for both our approaches, I just would feel better with the precision of a machine cut. But you are right that the pattern is not complicated

Make sure you test on a spare piece of decal paper first to see how it reacts to Sol - some are rather resistant and others wilt at the sight of the bottle. No rules to this except TEST FIRST. A wet paper tissue heated in the microwave and then placed on the decal is also a quite good way to get them to conform. I was also thinking about this yesterday and it occured to me to that in the photo you show it is hard to tell if the logo is painted on teh 1/1 in such a way so as to account for the extra width needed by the corrugation to the keep the logo optically true to the flat version when viewed straight on or does it become "squashed". When you make the file, it might be neccessary to stretch the logo on the x-axis to account for this? (I hope I have managed to convey what I mean? :s)
