1998 Transport AC Cycle with Defroster

My 1998 transport AC compressor is staying engaged when ever the defroster is selected instead of cycling off and on. Can some one tell me what controls the cycle. Everything I'm seeing points to the computer?

Re: 1998 Transport AC Cycle with Defroster

There is no cycling in your system- the a/c compressor is a V-5 variable stroke design-- is DOES NOT ever cycle- it adjust its cooling capacity by resducing the cubic inch displacement- so what you are seeing is perfectly normal operation for your van..

Re: 1998 Transport AC Cycle with Defroster

Thanks BRcidd, It sure seems like the system is fighting between hot and cold. I've noticed a big temperature difference when it is on defrost vs. blowing on my feet. I have to adjust the temp when I make a change. In 10 years I,ve never noticed this before. Any ideas?
