Re: Will installing smaller pulley cause problems?

Welcome to AF!

Since your post was a techinical question, I moved it from the off-topic thread (which is for non-technical disussions) to it's own thread for more visibility.

To answer your question, a smaller pulley needs supporting mods (such as colder heat range plugs, reprogrammed PCM, freeing up the exhaust, etc...) to be effective and can/will cause issues if done by itself.

Re: Will installing smaller pulley cause problems?

This is what I got.....

I think with this setup I could have went down to a 3.4" without problems, but I bought the pulley before the PCM and at the time the pulley was the only thing I was going to get.

My setup seems good I wasted a punk kid with a late 90's firebird. He thought he was all bad dragging everyone. Then I rolled up to the light next to him. When it turned green, he canned on it, I gave a little bit just to toy with him, and just before the merge I floored it and shot right past him. He was so mad, then I slowed down to 60mph, and he rode my butt the whole way home. He was too afriad to pass becuase he knew he's got nothing on my. When I finally turned off I looked over and the look on his face was priceless... (I just spent $12,000 on this car, and just lost a race to a GP). HA HA
