Disconnecting EVAP and EGR
Okay so I was scoping out my vacume lines the other day and noticed that my EGR and EVAP sensors were on vacume circuits of their own. So, I unplugged the sensors and blocked off the vacume lines. The car runs fine although of course it has thrown a CEL for the EVAP and EGR. I know alot of people do this mod but, do you also have to remove the EGR valve and EVAP system along with disconnecting them? I know they sell an EGR block off plate but the car seems to be fine without removing and blocking it off.
Oh and I also noticed that before I did this my boost gauge needle was very shaky while boosting. Now it is dead on no shake. I assume there might have been a slight leak somewhere in the EVAP/EGR circuit.

Re: Disconnecting EVAP and EGR
You can leak it the way you have it of remove them completely. Most people dont want the EGR because it puts carbon into your intake system. Unplugging it will disable it and it will no longer work. If it doesn't work no need to leave it on the motor so people remove it and use the block off plates. Gets rid of some of the clutter in the engine bay but other than that you can leave it on. I made my own block off plates in about an hour or so. So thats an option if you dont want to spend the $20 for them.

Re: Disconnecting EVAP and EGR
So basically, the way I have it set up right now is fine but, not optimal. I could do a write up with pictures on how to simplify the vacuum lines and cut down to the bare necessities if you guys think it would be useful.

Re: Disconnecting EVAP and EGR
The way you have it now is just as good as if you completely removed it, just still junks up the engine bay.
