pwr door locks not working properly

Hello,

I have a 04 1500 4dr and I can get the door to open with the fob or the switch. The only one that will open is the drivers door. Anyone had this issue? I'm thinking it's the master switch but I was hoping someone else had this problem and could point me in the right direction.

try standing next to the driver door and press and hold both lock and unlock buttons for more than 7 seconds i believe. you should hear both locks cycle. it rests fob. also, you must do this every time you change battery in the fob.

of course, you may have a blown fuse or fusable link in that door.

if the passenger door does not lock/unlock when commanded remove panel an check for power and connectors condition ...also lubricate linkage..then trace back the lost feed if necessary

Re: pwr door locks not working properly

Thanks for the tips! I just to clarify because I may have not explained it properly. It's a 4 door and no door will open with the switch or the fob except to drivers side front. That means when I try to unlock all the doors with the master switch or fob, nothing happens other than unlocking the drivers door. Also they will not unlock/lock when I use the pass side switch. I will try to reset the fob first but it does work on the drivers door and the fact that the switch opens the drivers door too makes me think it's may not be the fob sync.

with remote or with driver door control switch only the drivers door will lock/unlock...if this is the case pull up on the driver door control switch panel and check the door switch.for power when locking /unlocking..check for connectors damaged.switch working with meter.etc...check wires from switch for damage..shorts...then check the unlock jumper fuse and the unlock fuse...these fuses if blown will cause all the doors except the drivers door from operating the lock/unlock actuator.

if you find that these fuse/s are blown you will have to disconnect each door to find which door has the short circuit...

the other issue could be bcm .. I think the 15amp unlock fuse is most likely the problem...

Re: pwr door locks not working properly

Did the keyfob thing to resync and it worked for about 2 cycles. Did it again and about 4 cycles. When this happens the other doors will not unlock or lock with the fob or the switch. The only one that will open is the drivers side. That includes the pass side switch too. When I resynced the pass side and master switch work perfectly. After a few lock and unlock cycles it goes goofy again and will only open the drivres door.

well, so we know it's synching issue. do this:
1. replace battery, unless it was replaced recently. few bucks, no big deal
2. remove fob cover. pretty much, you crack it open like an oyster. now, you'll see a green plate with contacts on it and such. does it look slimy? take electrical parts cleaner or just rubbing alcohol, ear swab, and clean all contacts well. you will have to re-synch fob after this. every time you remove fob's battery, you need to do it.
if this does not help, i'm afraid your remote receiver in the truck goes coo-koo.

oh, and you could put locks into learning mode and do fob learning procedure. that might help either.
