2004 Tahoe speaker problem

When exiting truck and push the door lock the chime doesn't always work but doors lock OK after the time delay is up. Leaving the key in and opening the door the chime works OK. Anyone else had problems like this ? Thanks. *BW*

I think for the chime to go off when you lock the doors- the key must still be in ignition- otherwise no chime-- this is to keep you from locking yourself out of the truck- if key is in your hand- no chime.....

Re: 2004 Tahoe speaker problem

I just found the problem at no $$ cost ! Re-read the owners manual and if the door is open and you push either the remote locking button or the door lock button it should chime three times and after about 5 seconds all doors will lock. Fine and dandy but mine doesn't do that anymore. That was my problem I thought. Here's the answer. Checking the radio settings, fade, frt-rear, etc. when I got to front L-R and turned to full Left speaker there is hardly any sound from it !!! If I listen very close and the door is open and I pushed the lock button it will chime the three times as it should but is very quiet. So, now what is the reason for there to be hardly any sound from the left side ??? Have gotten rid of one problem but still have another one. Maybe someone else had had a simular problem ? ? ? Thanks. *BW*
