building a d16a6??

My question is is it worth trying to build up a d16a6? I mean hgiher comp. pistons and a cam and cam gear? what parts would you suggest to use and also what would you suggest to do? I am talking all motor. I am just curious what the potential for this motor could be because they are cheap and not many people build them up.

Stick with the D series. There is no need to buy a B series and get taxed

With the proper tuning and modifications most d-series engines can be turned into beasts econo-style. A carb setup, rebuilt internals, and a bigger bore is a good way to go if you live in a warm area.

Someone at payntech told me that 220 crank hp is the max you can get outa a D series motor... I thought about it for awhile and WAIT! Isnt Bizi pushin OVER 300 WHP with that D15B2? So wtf?! Doesent sound verry streetable... The carb thing reminded me of that.

Here is my webpage on my D16a6 rebuild, It shows you a close estimate on how much parts will cost and what parts will be needed to completely rebuild a D16.
