Fusible link ?
Mine is a 95 4 door 4X4 S-10 Blazer with 292,000 miles. It quite recently has taken to having some sort of electrical glitch. Not always, but sometimes, while cranking it will crank like it has a big load it's turning and almost won't start. (The battery is new.)Then it usually runs fine but constantly throws a code. I don't know which code as I don't have a scanner that works on it. (Does the Innova 3140 Scanner really work on these. The 3130 supposedly does but all i got was vehicle not communicating. Any others work well that are short of the $1000. plus range?) Usually it cranks and fires up fine. Yesterday while I was going down the road the Brake warning light and the Air bag light... came on for maybe 10 - 15 seconds and went off again, also the radio shut off and came back on just like on initially start up. I've seen this three times within the last week.
I was wondering if this is probably the fusible link since all electrical wiring and devices are original from factory except starter and alt'. Thank you for any help. Tom |

Re: Fusible link ?
A fuse link usually blows like a fuse.
I would check all connections and wiring plugin's. And even ign switch. If check engine light is on you should get code and post back code no. On the starting check starter draw and battery and battery cabels. Also base timing. Yes the 95 has 2-3 different PCM/VCM systems. A good scanner up to the 5K range is requires to check most of them. Most good repair shops have scanners that can read codes and data for a fee.
