Smile 96 tranny grinds in reverse

Ive got a 96 civic ,automatic, when you try to put it in reverse it grinds like a straight shift.I adjusted the shifter cable and that didnt help either.

Re: 96 tranny grinds in reverse

Change your fluid and filter. Lower your idle. The transmission isn't spinning down properly, probably because of the excess pressure from a high idle or low fluid (low fluid won't cause excess pressure.)
