1994 Dodge Ram starting problem

Hi, I've got a 1994 Ram 1500, with around 180,000 miles on her, one morning i was going out to my truck and i started it up, it was so loud that i jumped out of the cab and shut her off, someone had cut the pipe leading from my engine to my cat converter, right at the bend, so with money being an issue i left like that and was going to fix it later, but when i was driving down the road it just shut off on me a few days later, i checked the battery, starter, wires and everything else i knew how to do, but nothing, then i checked the codes and i got 37 and 42, now im thinking since the truck just shutdown, 42 is what im going to have to pay attention to, any help?
