02 blazer tranny issues

Helpin out a co worker his blazer is leaking tranny fluid he said its up towards the radiator so im guessing its 1 of the cooler lines. He also said it wont go past 40mph or so could this have caused it to over heatand mess something else up? He said he added some fluid and it still had the problem im sure most of it leaked back out tho. If he replaced the lines and filled it back up is it possible it would then shift fine?

We can not say for sure.
Without a lot more info.
Any check engine lights or engine /transmission code stored?
The leak will need fixsed first thing anyway.
If you run the transmission low of fluid you will burn it up fast.
On the overheat is it the engine or transmission over heat.
Is the rad low or losing coolant to?

Re: 02 blazer tranny issues

First day it done this he said he has had a cel but I havnt got a chance to check it yet since he just told me today. Im assuming the tranny is over heating if its leaking from the cooler lines he said it didnt have issues when it was cold.

I more or less wanted to know would harm could be done to it by running it low or hot.

You can burn it up fast.
Like fry the clutches in over a minute or two.
