Re: 1997 yukon

Impossible to diagnose in this environment, could be a valve, a rocker arm, an exhaust leak?

Uh, have someone who is knowledgeable in this area, listen to/diagnose the problem.

Re: 1997 yukon

i have a 97 2door yukon with 176k miles. My truck started doing that too. I would start it up and it would hear click click click in the engine. What it probably is is a lifter that is stuck. What I did was an oil change, and I added this oil additive called "Clean & Quiet" to the 5qts. of oil. After about 2 days the noise hasnt come back. Try that first, i suggest you do it for this oil change and your next one. If that does work you might need to replace a lifter (best to just do them all at once)

Hope this works for you! that clicking had me worried for awhile but i dont think its anything bad for you. Let me know how it goes!
