demon carb?

i have an issue with my demon carb and am wondering if anyone else here has had similiar problems with the carbs. the problem is that i cannot find an air cleaner that fits on top of the carb without hitting the choke linkage. the guys at barry grant sell an air cleaner for 80 bucks to solve this problem, but i cant just pop one of those on because it will hit my distributor (HEI ignition on a smallblock chevy). so does anyone know of an aircleaner spacer that will accomodate a demon choke linkage?

Holley sells a variety of air cleaner spacers.

Or, hit the wrecking yards and look for a full size Chevy/GMC van with a V8 and a carb (1971 through 86(?). They all came from the factory with a one inch aircleaner spacer that should fit.
