*sigh*, i just can't get away from silly unusual car problems no matter what I'm driving. If it's not my sunfire it's whatever I'm able to borrow from my folks (they generally have no problems, the trouble starts when the car comes my way for some reason
)Anyways, DRLs won't shut off when the engine is off. I've tried anything possible interior (dash panel), and no luck. I will try removing the fuse next, hopefully I can isolate the DRLs and still have manual headlights that work. I've searched and noticed that this has been a problem before, just wondering if anybody has any ideas or if anyone else has experienced this issue. FYI, this just started happening today. Last night and today I was driving quite a bit through freezing rain, and last night I spilled windshield washer around the windshield washer casing as it was windy rainy and freezing cold, and pouring wasn't really my expertise at the time... Wondering if any of those things could have done something, or if all that's purely coincidental (in my fun world of automotive mishaps, it usually is coincidental). Any help is appreciated. Thanks

Re: 95 LeSabre, DRLs do NOT shut off
Make sure the delay swich that controls the daytime running lamps is not set to max. I read that that could cause it somewhere.I had this happen before. I had to pull the fuse to get the lights to go out and I think I had the switch that controls DRLs. But pulling the fuse is not the ultimate solution since the head lights won't work at all at. Hopefully they're of by now

Ultimately ended up disconnecting/reconnecting the battery, fixed my problem instantly. I'm thinking it might have been an improper read on the sensor, cause it's not giving me grief anymore. Unhooking the battery must have reset something, I'll keep an eye on it, but it seems to be okay. Thanks for suggestions though.

Re: 95 LeSabre, DRLs do NOT shut off
The light control module controls the DRL function and disconnecting the battery in effect reset the module. The problem may come back, but for now good luck!

Re: 95 LeSabre, DRLs do NOT shut off
If you read this post again and the problem occurs again instead of going the the trouble of unhooking the battery cable which resets everthing pull the fuse.
The fuse to pull is the one for the exterior lamps under the dash on the driver's side of the car. There is no fuse labled DRLs. This will reset it and reinsert the fuse. But it problem won't occur again for awhile. I've only ran into this problem a few times in my two years of ownership and only once or twice did I have to pull the fuse.

The PCM is used for monitoring and controlling the power-train. The chassis electrical system has it’s own collection of control modules. BCM, LCM, IRS, TDM, CCM, etc-etc. Some communication may take place between the different modules, but the control functions (outputs) do not. BTW, the light control module is totally independent and does not have any communication with the PCM.
