95 vr jetta

Car seems too be running on 4-5 cylinders. Scanned the car came up with IAt code. The air temp sensor on the mainifold. Will this cause the car too run like crap. Any help thanks.

codes that came up :Intake Air Temperature (IAT) Sensor -G72: Short circuit to Ground (GND) and Idle Air Control Regulation: Adaptation limit exceeded [sporadic].
