Question Water pump and starter question...

I'm in the process of rebuilding a '91 Metro with just under 90k. Looking at where the water pump and starter sit I thought this might be a good time to replace them if they tend to fail, say in the 90k-120k miles range. They're both pretty easy to get to at this point.
There's no indication of any problem with either of them right now.
Anyone have any experience/opinion?
Thanks in advance.
Mike

The starter will last a long time. I have heard of these with over 300,000 miles and the original starter. I would do the water pump while you are in there.

If your going to do the waterpump, you might as well do the timing belt if it hasn't been done in a while.

Re: Water pump and starter question...

I just did mine. Absolutely do the water pump and timing belt while you are there. I know the saying goes, 'If it ain't broke, don't fix it', but it's much easier to do it out of the car than in....
