P0753 Code

Hi gang,
My blazer throws this code intermittenly...normally on startup on cold mornings.

If I turn the car on, wait a few seconds (usually until the engine light turns off) and then crank it over...it sometimes doesn't throw the code even on cold mornings.

When I hooked it up to the scanner, I got a P0753 Generic Shift Solenoid A Circuit Electrical code.

I notice that it shifts through all of the gears, but when it goes to shift down into overdrive, it's not as smooth as the other shifts.

I also notice a bit more noise when the blazer is running at higher speeds (around 55mph).

Any thoughts?

Thanks!

Bob

Re: P0753 Code

Open or short in the 1-2 shift solenoid circuit.

1-2 shift solnoid is used on 12 shift and 3-4 shifting.

Is the strange OD shift on the up shift from 3-4 or the down shift 4-3?

Needs to be put on a engine/transmission capable scanner for more testing.

Re: P0753 Code

up shift 3-4 is when I notice it; it seems to shift down fine.

Re: P0753 Code

The code is for a open or short in wiring circuit.
Test wiring and circuit and solenoid and wiring plugins.
A good transmission scanner has some test on the solenoid and wiring and may show other problems.
How many miles and what year is it?
Or other codes,
Check shift times and shift errows and shift adaptives real close to.
Ever been serviced?
May also be a good time for a transmission pan drop and filter service.
Good Luck
