2007 Chrysler Aspen noise from AC Compressor

When I first start my Aspen, the AC compressor seems to make a quick grunt when it first comes on. After the initial startup, it doesnt do this again.

Is this a normal thing to be expected from this product? or should I look into it further?

My wife says "my suburban didnt make that sound" so I have to troubleshoot until it's fixed! gotta keep wifey happy!

Re: 2007 Chrysler Aspen noise from AC Compressor

Sounds like an inherant design issue- like liquid slugging- after an all-night sit- liquid refrigerant collects in the compressor- and is expelled when a/c is first activated- causing the internal noises-- compressors are designed to pump gaseous refrigerant, not liquid-- hence the noise--- do others who own your type of vehicle have this complaint???
