Timing belt

I have a 2001 escape with 108,000 miles on it. I never changed the timing belt, I,m sure it must be due. How difficult a job, and appx what cost if I bring it to a shop? Thanks...

Re: Timing belt

I assume you are talking about a 2.0 DOHC. I would suggest getting the t-belt kit which includes the t-belt, tensioner, and idler pulleys. You will also need a valve cover gasket as the cams are aligned with the notches in them on the opposite side of the gear (there is a tool kit for this). Other than that its pretty simple belt to do.
