Jack in the junipers

This is bizarre.

Someone hid an unused car jack set for a late model Audi (includes jack, lug wrench, locking nut key, screwdriver, wire puller thing and an odd black wrench thing) all in the original styrofoam case out of sight under some bushes in my parent's front lawn. It had likely been there for some weeks before my dad found it.

So, why would anyone take the time to remove the set from an Audi and hide it there???

The only thing I can think of is a kid who grabbed what they could from an unlocked Audi (the neighborhood is full of them) and ditched it thinking they would come back later.... or use the locking nut to liberate the wheels???

Any other ideas??

Re: Jack in the junipers

I've had kids "jockey boxing" go thru my unlocked cars looking for smokes or loose change, but none have ever popped the trunk and stolen the jack set. Not like it's right out there or even of any value. Like you said, bizzare

Re: Jack in the junipers

Sounds like they were probably carrying it after taking it out of a car - and either A) it just got to heavy

or more likely

B) they were spotted or thought they had been spotted by a police officer or the like after stealing it and ditched it.

Re: Jack in the junipers

I would agree in saying kids took it.

You will probably never know the real reason, but its fun to guess...
Heres mine, like RaeRae said, they were about to get caught.
OR they took it and stashed it there so they could come back later and steal someone wheels then never got the chance.

Finally my last guess is. they stole a bunch of stuff, felt remorse and instead of taking it back and risk getting caught, they stashed it there in hopes that your parents would ask around after finding it, and return it for the thieves..

....or its really a transformer....

As an aside, what a good name for a band. Jack in the Junipers.
