Question little help please

I need to replace my front wheel bearings on a 05 corolla. How do I get the rotors off? Do I have to take the nut off to get to the bearings? If I do what size is it? Thanks.

Re: little help please

if the noise gets louder as you speed up then its a wheel bearing. one other thing that will make a wheel bearing make a noise is that the cv axle nut [the big one under the hub cap] will back off to the cotter pin and let the wheel bearing get slack. make sure the big cv axle nut is not loose and against the cotter pin.if it has then tighten it back up .i think its a 34mm deep socket and use an impact or breaker bar to torque it tight.your gonna have to replace the grease seals on the wheelbearing also[inner and outer].a whole lot of stuff has to come off to get the hub to where you can replace the bearing. get a haynes or chilton manual for your year before you tear into it, it will walk you thru it.

Re: little help please

Very odd that an '05 would have a bearing problem.
I would check the tire for uneven tread wear first (choppy or cupping tread).
If the tires were just rotated, the right rear suspension may have chopped the tire up a little (not unusual).
It sounds identical to a dying bearing sound.

Good luck!
