I have decided to try to sell my Peavey Deltabass head. Here are some specs and some info from the manual.

The DeltaBass was designed keeping in mind the value of a lightweight, powerful bass amp. This amp has that and more.
Because the DeltaBass is a lightweight amp, it’s portable enough for any gig or practice. The easy-to-use three-band EQ is so versatile you should have no problem quickly dialing up your sound. Professional features like a Tuner Send, Post-EQ Effects Loop, and a transformer balanced XLR jack with Pre/Post EQ switch will make your next gig a breeze. Notice that we tapped the signal for the XLR before the Volume control (even for the Post EQ Send) so you can adjust your stage volume without tampering with the sound in the mains. This will certainly score some valuable points with your soundman. (Tidbit regarding this...REALLY DOES work very well. I used to always run an XLR straight to the board from this head, sometimes without even having the cab on stage, and I ALWAYS got compliments...it's great getting compliments from 30-40 yr old pro soundmen when you're all of 17...:-D)

Great amp for a smaller practice rig and or a stage head. I've used it for quite a few years now and it's been great. I just really want to get a more powerful head. My cab (a peavey 410tx) is an 8 ohm cab and this head just can't push it too hard due to the impedence. Cab's rated at 350W RMS but this head can only push ~125W at 8 ohms. Still sounds good...just has no head room. If you have a 4 ohm cab or 2 8 ohm cabs, this thing would be awesome. If I got another one of my cabs and made a full stack, this thing would ROCK...I just don't want to carry that around...lol

I'm a bass player, but I already have what I need and am in the process (meaning: trying to save enough money) of building my "dream" head (rack mounted power amp, tuner, eq and wireless).

I'm using an old Peavey Musician Series 3, the fore runner of the IV that a lot of old bassists still swear by. Still kicks great sound through my Hartke 4x10.

What kind of guitar do you play? I'm playing a Traben Phoenix ( http://trabenbass.com/phoenix.php# ) and love it. I also have a Washburn 6-string that I don't play anymore and am trying to sell.

I swear by Ibanez. I have 2 guitars and 2 basses by them and LOVE them. My first guitar ever (bass AND guitar, really...one of each) were Ibanez (an EX Series 5-string bass and a [now custom] 1994 S540LTD guitar...both black) and I have really grown to love them. I also have a KILLER Ibanez RGT6EXFXBK guitar and another Ibanez 4 string bass to fart around on that's amazingly good for the ~120 bucks or whatever I paid for it. My Ibanez guitars are the real shining stars of my collection, though. They have completely taken the fun out of going to guitar center...I like my stuff better! My next bass will be a SR530 or a SR505 (the 5-string version on this model...I really only play 5 strings but I'm willing to make exceptions) and then I want to get either a Mike D'Antonio sig bass or a Paul Romanko sig bass (I LOVE the simplicity of these basses). I'd also REALLY like to get a Cort Curbow...I actually recorded a CD (using the amp that's for sale!) with one of these as a loaner and really liked it!

It's just time that I start putting together a bigger, more powerful rig. The Deltabass is GREAT but I need more power now.

Thanks about the avatar. That's from a show we played earlier this year, I think June.

A lot of guys around here swear by Ibanez as well. While I like the Ibanez's that I've played, I'll still stick with my Traben. It fits me.

As for a reply to the Psalms 23 for bassists:

What do you call a person that hangs out with musicians? A drummer!!

In my last band, I was the one trying to keep the drummer on beat and at the right tempo. Maybe that's why we broke up - our drummer sucked and the female singer didn't have a consistent voice.
