Exclamation muffler affect emission?

Hello guys,

I wanna know if whether installing an after-market muffler will affect exhaust emission or not? I have been told by several different exhaust manufacturers that the only thing that i should be worried about should be the noise level and not emission.

However, my country requires that I submit a certificate or test report showing that it will not affect emission limit so I am like what the hell?

Re: muffler affect emission?

Generally anything downstream of the catalytic converter will not affect emissions, so a muffler should be okay.

As for getting it approved for use on your car...... if you are buying from a reputable retailer or dealer in the UK, they should be able to help or advise you, since anyone else there buying a muffler would have the same problem.
