About how much would it cost to make a r32 or r33 run in the 9 to low 10 second range in the 1/4 mile?
Can they be made to run faster? my final question is how streetable is the car with mods.

Well, I can't quote an exact price and I'm not sure what HP you would need to get there. But lets take a look at what you would need.
Intake, Headers, Downpipe, Exhaust. Injectors, Fuel pump, pressure regulator, Fuel rail. Fuel Computer, Digital Boost Control, perhaps ECU. Bigger turbs, or if this is strictly a track car, one big fuckoff one ![]() More then likley you would also need forged pistons, Conrods, mby a crank. You would for sure need more aggressive cams. Clutch, for sure ![]() Uh lets see... Gearbox? Perhaps better LSDs, mby a driveshaft. I'm not really sure sense I donno how many horses would be needed. Now as for how streetable it would be. I'd say pretty damn streetable. The only question would be do you need a twin plate or triple plate clutch. If it's a twin, cool, if it's a triple, you could still drive it about... But it would be a bitch in traffic. Lemme look around through some old threads, I think a question like this has been asked and a list with prices was provided.

U need 550HP in an R32 to run 11's. (U can actually buy 11sec kits in Japan)
So 9 secs would take a damn lot and cost a damn lot. I'd say closer to 1000hp! |

![]() The horsepower would really depend on the turbo and how much it flows. For 500-600hp I would forget about the pistons and invest that money on cams and get a standalone (f.e. PowerFC) instead of ECU. |

Low 10s, you would need about 750-800hp. You are looking at a lot of money. If you want low 11s, that pretty easy and fairly cheap that is my goal about 550.
272 cams, and a well setup turbo it would be very streetable. I personally would not do it, because you are going to getting a liilte too laggy for me, but it would be a drivable car. Shifting in traffic might be a pain. |

a streetable 11 second GTR is VERY achieveable and know a couple of people whos daily drivers will quite happily run 11's down the track

I'll let you know when I finish my project car. So far it has cost me a lot of money for parts and I don't even have the car in the shop yet. The eventualy goal is between 8-900 hp and into the 9's. And I have indeed needed to purchase new pistons, rods, crank, cams, and also, something that was not mentioned, I have had to buy stronger gears for the tranny. At least in an R33 the third gear has a tendancy to fry according to MotoRex.

hmm...
if you want 8-9 secs, go to www.exvitermini.com and read what they've done... a whole hell of a lot to get into the 8s. and i don't think it's streetable... do you own one, or are you just asking dreamer questions? |

Dreamer(planing), I am tring to decide on getting a skyline or getting a wrx and modding the hell out of it.
I think that I am going to get a wrx just because I can make it faster for less money than it would cost get get a skyline into California. Also I would not be as worried as far as things happening to it(stolen) :alien: |

We are all dreamers, It's just that some of us get to actually run with our dreams. Of course world domination is out for the time being.
What's the deal with skylines being stolen. Is this a states thing or is it world wide? |

I just don't want I lot of attention, so I think that with wrx I could "blend" in a little more.

WRX is still a nice car. You will get attention with it also.

Since you have scooby in your name, I think you already had your mind made up.
I think you are right though, a Skyline would attract a hell of a lot more attention. |
