2001 bonneville 3800 missing
The engine is missing on #3 & #6. The coil is good as I swaped it with another one. I had the ignition module checked and it is good. I still have no spark from the 3-6 coil. What else could cause this problem that would not affect the other coils? It is a 2001 pontiac bonneville with the standard 3800 engine.

Re: 2001 bonneville 3800 missing
The module could still be bad, or weak input from the crank sensor or a bad connection between the cps and icm.

Re: 2001 bonneville 3800 missing
Thanks MAXWEDGE. Would the crank sensor just affect the 3-6 coil and not the others? I am still suspicious about the icm. Where is the cps located as I would like to check the connection? The connector pins to the icm look great.

Update
The ignition module that checked good was actually bad. I borrowed one from a friend and the car runs great. Got a new one on the way! |

Re: 2001 bonneville 3800 missing
A lesson many have learned, the ign module field test is very inconclusive.
